Musing Mondays #1

Hosted by Should Be Reading

This week’s musing asks…

How far along are you in your current read before you start thinking about what you’ll read next?

My Answer:

When the reading is interesting, engaging and/or enthralling and I have already chosen two to three books to read, I won't think about next read (But, my TBR pile keeps increasing, even at that time..I am not sure how ;-) ).  After I finish one or two from my currently-reading pile, I will start thinking what books should I buy and what can I start reading from my already-bought shelf.  Its fun to think those things..always fun..makes some of my favorite moments of my day. :)

So, do you have this habit too?

  1. My reading has been lacking late;y. I do find if I read though, and pick up another book I will start reading immediately. I like to start the new book when I'm on a roll with a current one so that I don't have to "start" a new book. It's already started - I just have to continue. 3. Not sure if this is the post you wanted comments on (through Comment Luv on WBC).

Answer: Since I am a book reviewer, I'm looking 3 months in advance for my next book I 'have' to read. For books I personally want to read, I just pick up whatever suits my mood at the time.

  4. Great answer - I am the exact same way! There are so many good books coming out this year alone, so it's tough to stay focused on what I'm currently reading, without looking forward to the next one. :)

  6. I totally agree with you when you say that it's fun to think about what books should you buy, etc. Sometimes, it's quite therapeutic too in a different way.
Thanks for stopping by my blog :)

  7. It's a never ending cycle. What to read, what to buy, where to go from there. I am constantly changing my mind. Here's my Musing

  8. When I plan ahead, I don't have to think about the next one. It's there, waiting.

  10. this is a really good answer! I try to limit myself, when I have 15 unread books on my TBR pile I force myself not to buy any more until I have read at least three of them! haha!

  11. One reason I like to buy my books is so I can select which book I read next. I just do this for fun so ti does not matter what I read.

  14. I somehow tend to always read 2 books together, and I seem to have a never-ending list of review requests for my blog. I just can't seem to get those finished to really think about buying books right now.
I do have to say, some of the books I have read have been terrific.
