REVIEW

*** This book was provided by Ever After PR for the book tour ***

Mess! Mess! Mess! Mess! Mess! Mess! Mess! Mess! Mess! Mess! Mess! Mess! Mess! Mess! TOTAL TOTAL TOTAL MESS!  WHAT THE HELL!!!!! OH PLEASE, NOT AGAIN!

These were the only things I keep thinking about when reading this book.  This is the way I felt about the life of the protagonist in this book.

Lilly, the protagonist of the book, is a cop's daughter and falls for the drug dealer, Johnny, at the start of the book, in spite of the repeated warnings from her father.  Her father throws her out and she becomes pregnant with his child, when she gets the news that Johnny is dead.  Johnny's friend, Diego (another drug dealer), says that he will take care of her and her baby and asks her to marry him.  She does and soon falls in love with her bodyguard and Diego's half-brother, Max.

I hate Lilly's character..its just disgusting.  I liked every one of the men she got involved with - at least they can be categorised under a character and are stable.  And at least they don't want to be with every girl they come across.  Total waste of three gorgeous men over a girl, who wants to sleep with every men who has a six pack and looks pretty!  I really really couldn't stand Lilly's so-called 'innocence' and 'naivity'.

The other characters were likeable.  The characters of Hector, Max and Lilly's kid was so cute and adorable.  Max's character was romantic and I felt like Lilly don't deserve Max.  It felt just so unfair that she can't remain true to any of her men.  Well, I think I made it clear that I don't like Lilly even a bit..so, I will move on to other things.

But the author has done a good story-telling and it was good to know the brothers.  This is a series and you have a cliffhanger waiting for you in the end.  Although this book is not for me, I found that most readers can find it really gripping because of the thriller genre.  To say the truth, I was gripped completely in the second half of the book, in the thriller section.

Had me occupied, but this book is not for me!

  1. While I didn't agree with Lilly's choices, and would never act like her, I did love the story.

I also had to remind myself that this is the "mob" life. I don't have any experience in that life so I don't know if it's like that or similar.
