Guest Post & $15 Gift Card Giveaway: Finding My Faith

Original Title: Finding My Faith
Series: Six Saviours #2
Author: Carly Fall
Publisher: Westward Publishing
Published Date: March 1st 2012
Genre: Fantasy

Growing up in a small Northern Arizona town, Faith Cloudfoot’s life was spent playing in the forests surrounding her house under the protective eyes of her father, and learning about the legends of her Native American heritage. Yearning for more out of her life, she moves to Phoenix, Arizona at the age of twenty-three where she is kidnapped and almost killed.

Rayner has a special ability, one that weighs on him like a curse. He can see spirits trapped in between life and their final resting place. Because he can’t do much to help them, he studiously ignores them. He concentrates, instead, on working with his fellow warriors to right the wrongs caused by the evil criminals from his home planet.

When Rayner sees Faith in her spirit form while investigating a lead in Phoenix, his attraction to her is immediate, yet he follows his own personal code and ignores her cry for attention. When he realizes that she may be a stepping stone to getting him home to his own universe, he engages Faith and begins to use her as a means to an end: going home.

As the attraction grows stronger, Rayner finds himself breaking all sorts of self-set rules, as well as the code of ethics set by him and his fellow warriors. When Faith nears death, Rayner realizes that he must do everything in his power to save her, because if he doesn’t, he may just lose himself.

EXCERPT

“You're real.”

It was barely a whisper, but Rayner heard it.  His heart beat even faster, and he slowly opened his eyes.  Faith was looking at him.

“Yes,” he whispered back.

“Your eyes...” her voice drifted off, and she closed her eyes for a moment as if she were recalling something, then opened them again.

She smiled slightly and reached for his hand.  “My wise warrior saved me.”

He took it and held the delicate bones in his big paw.  Energy ripped through him as their palms touched. After the initial jolt, he felt a peace overcome every fiber of his being.  It slowed his heart and loosened his muscles.  The peace that flowed through him was an energy all onto itself.

They stared at each other for a moment, then Faith shut her eyes.  Rayner studied her face.  In a nutshell, she took his breath away.  She was prettier in the flesh than she had been as a ghost.  He watched her chest rise and fall with each breath.

“We have to get out of here, Rayner,” Hudson said in a low voice.

Rayner nodded, let go of Faith's hand and began to stand up.

Faith's eyes flew open and she tried to sit up, panic raced across her face.  “No!” she said, “please don't leave me!”

Rayner took her hand again and got back down on his knees.  “Faith, relax.  I'm not going anywhere without you.  You're safe now.”

He met her eyes, and for a long moment he knew she was deciding whether he could be trusted.  He gave her hand a gentle squeeze and said, “I promise.”

TOP 10 MALE MOVIE HEROES

- GUEST POST BY CARLY FALL

Thank you for having me!

What makes a great male movie hero?  The guys got to be tough, good looking, charming and look sexy as hell carrying a gun.  There are a lot of great male movie heroes out there, but here is my top ten.  They aren't in any particular order.  I like them all for different reasons.

1.  Harrison Ford - Star Wars

2.  Keanu Reeves - The Matrix

3.  Sylvester Stallone - Rambo

4.  Sean Connery - James Bond

5.  Harrison Ford - Indiana Jones

6.  Bruce Willis - Die Hard

7.  Daniel Craig - James Bond

8  Matt Damon - Bourne Identity

9. Humphrey Bogart - Casablanca

10  Denzel Washington - in anything :)

  3. Hi Carly,
thank you for the great giveaway and the wonderful excerpt. i think that my list is very similiar to yours but with just a few changes.

1)John Wayne-The Quiet Man,Big Jake and any of the Rooster Cogburn movies.

2)Hugh Jackman(or as i call him my man "sighs i wish")-Van Helsing,Australia,x-men movies or anything else

3)Viggo Mortenson-Lord of the Rings Trilogy,Hildalgo, and A History Of Violence.

4)Frank Langella-Dracula(best one EVER 1979/also on Broadway),The Box,Sweet Novemeber,(on T.V.)Deep Space Nine as Mr. Jaro and the list goes on and on and on. LOVE HIM! sorry fan girl moment. :D

5)Alan Rickman- I know he has usually played the villian but he is a great actor and all alpha. When he played Hans Grubber in Die Hard you really believed he was an a-------e. and then of course there is his role as Snape in the Harry Potter films where he actually turns out to be the biggest hero of all. and one of his funniest roles was in Robin Hood with Kevin Costner. wonderfully talented man.

6)Gary Oldman-i know most people would not consider him as an alpha but it depends on the role he is in. for instance Sirius Black in H.P. films is definitely and alpha, in the Book of Eli even as the villian he plays the part of the towns alpha male, and of course don't forget his awesome performance as "Dracula".

7)Ed Norton- Pure Alpha male good/badness. i love this guys movies so much that when i know a new one is coming out i try and find out what kind it is going to be so i know if it is a family friendly or not. LOL! he has a huge list of credits so i just list a couple. The Illuionist,Fight club,The Italian Job,American History X and coming soon i hope(post production now) Bourne Legacy.

8)Sean Connery-enough said. man is gorgeous and his voice could melt the panties off the Queen of England.

9)Sam Elliott-So sexy and his voice is like rough, raw wiskey poured over gravel and covered in velvet. it's just got that smooth and going down and rough enough to raise goosebumps kinda thing going on. "SIGH". now that's just his voice, the man is also Gorgeous and very talented actor. he has played in Mask (with cher),Roadhouse, The Sacketts,We Were Soldiers,Ghost Rider,Did you Hear About The Morgans and the list just goes on.

10)Al Pacino-i know that he is not a big tall man, but he has the brains to have survied in Hollywood for all of these years, and i have never heard a scandel about him. that's smart! LOL! he also has alot of alpha traits. brains, looks, tough, etc. look at the movie Scarface, would you want to make HIM mad? :D my favorite movie of his is actually a shakespere play "the Merchant of Venice" and he gets the raw end of the deal in it, but oh man did he ever play a breathtaking part. i almost Never cry at movies and he brought tears to my eyes several times. he also played in The Godfather(of course),Serpico,Heat, The Devil's Advocate, The Insider and The Scent of a Woman.

i know my list is a bit different and that they also have some beta traits but i think they tend to be more Alpha. sorry i went on for so long. thank you again for the great blog hop and enjoy your week.
